Boston Shamrocks 3-13 Connacht Ladies 2-8 Boston Shamrocks are now just one win away from retaining the Boston Northeast Ladies Senior Football Championship.  The reigning champions had to work harder for this win than last time out, and but for a fortunate goal early in the second half, it would have been a much closer affair.  Connacht will take solace from their much improved performance

The Ladies senior football championship got off to a start Saturday afternoon with a one sided win for the Boston Shamrocks.  A score of 8-9 to a goal and four points puts the Shamrocks one game to the good in the best of 5 series.  With such a one sided affair, it seems that it will take moving a mountain for the Connacht Ladies to lift themselves back into the series.  A couple of injuries

Boston Shamrocks 2-12 Connacht Ladies 0-6 The Boston Shamrocks retained the Orla Benson Cup with a mostly one sided victory on Sunday afternoon.  After Ciara Murphy opened the scoring the remainder of the first half was mainly one way traffic.   The forward running of Claire Kenny from wing back was kept Connacht Ladies on their heels, while the finishing of Tessa Crowley widened the gap

Next weekend sees the start of the Boston Northeast GAA championships.  2017 Pat O’Brien Cup champions, Aidan McAnespies take on Christopher’s while Connemara Gaels and the Wolfe Tones will lock horns.  The following week will see Shannon Blues, Donegal and Galway in action as the championship picks up momentum.  This year’s senior football championship is most eagerly awaited as it is

2016 will be remembered as a year of firsts in the sporting world.  The Chicago Cubs, Leicester City, and Cleveland Cavaliers were among high profile winners in the professional world, and it was no different on the local front for the Boston Northeast GAA.  The Wolfe Tones won their first ever senior football championship, and Offaly hurlers won the junior championship in their maiden season.
