Shannon Blues v Aidan McAnespies
The sun was setting on a perfect summer evening as the champagne-soaked Shannon Blues raised the cup. It was a physical encounter, more tactical than thrilling, but the Blues fully deserved to go through to the North American finals. Brian ‘Biscuits’ Kennedy had his charges in shape and in tune for this final, and Boston GAA Chairman John Farrell described

4:00 Senior Football Final – Shannon Blues v Aidan
McAnespies have made it this far against the odds - can they take the final step?
So, we are down to the last two teams standing after a very
close run senior football championship.

The Blues have at times looked unstoppable this year

Sunday August 13
Shannon Blues v Galway 1:45
First up are Galway and the Shannon Blues. Galway find themselves one game away from
repeating last year’s final appearance.
The westerners field a balanced side and play a fluid style, moving the
ball well when in possession. There are
plenty of finishers in the forward line.
Home based stalwart Kevin Cummins can be relied on to come up

Connemara Gaels 1-14 Aidan McAnespies 2-13 AET
The Gaels and McAnespies served up a tremendous game that
was full of incident and excitement. It
could have gone either way as early in the second period of extra time the
teams were still tied. With victory in
their grasp at the end of normal time, McAnespies saw a three point injury time
lead slip away and the Gaels force extra time.

Aidan McAnespies 4-15 Wolfe Tones 2-13
Aidan McAnespies finally made it over the hurdle to make
sure of a playoff spot with the type of finish to a game that we have not seen
from them thus far this season. The game
was tight most of the way, with hardly anything between the teams until a
finish with a flourish from McAnespies.
Two goals in the final quarter delivered the spoils, and

Shannon Blues 3-18 Aidan McAnespies 0-12
Shannon Blues scored an emphatic win over Aidan McAnespies
Sunday afternoon and one that will alleviate any worries following last week’s
stunning Galway comeback. The Blues got
on top early and did not let up for the remainder of the game. A step ahead of their opponents, and enjoying
a wealth of possession, the Blues forwards feasted on the supply.

Connemara Gaels 0-17 Aidan McAnespies 1-12
It was edge of the seat stuff between the Connemara Gaels
and Aidan McAnespies. There was nothing
between the teams throughout the second half, and for the Gaels the
introduction of fresh legs from the line provided them with the edge. With both sides tiring, the fresh legs gave
the Gaels the lift for the final minutes.

Aidan McAnespies 0-17 Galway 2-15
The senior football championship is well and truly underway. Galway tallied their first 2 points of the
season, while it was the first loss of the 2017 for McAnespies. The game was tight all the way through, with
no more than 2 points between the teams.
It was not until Kevin Cummins netted in injury time for Galway that
there was any semblance of

Aidan McAnespies 3-11 Christopher’s 1-9
A win for Aidan McAnespies to start off the season, and score
line that belies what was a very entertaining and competitive opening game for
2017. A five point McAnespies first half
lead was pared back by Christopher’s, however a late goal and two points ensured
Jerry Kenneally and Brian Breslin Tangle.
The opening half was well contested
